DirectResearch is member of the MarktOnderzoekAssociatie (MOA), Center for Marketing Insights – Research – Analytics. This is an association of companies and institutes that deals with Market Research, Digital Analytics, Marketing Intelligence and Policy Research. The Research Quality Mark group is a group of market research agencies that complies with and subjects itself to strict quality requirements for market research and are also audited in this respect by an independent commission of auditors. These quality requirements are laid down in the ISO standard ISO 20252 for market and opinion research and ISO 26362 for panels. DirectResearch complies with both ISO standards.
Protection of privacy
When carrying out a market survey, DirectResearch observes the following rules of conduct:
- DirectResearch informs the respondent about the objective of the survey;
- DirectResearch treats the respondent who participates in the survey with respect, also when he/she does not wish to participate in the survey;
- DirectResearch does not collect more data than necessary for carrying out the survey;
- DirectResearch does not process data in identifiable form any longer than necessary for conducting the research, we anonymise the survey results as quickly as possible;
- DirectResearch never reports about individual respondents with identifiable data, unless the respondent has unambiguously given permission for this;
- DirectResearch has taken technical and organisational measures to protect the collected data against unlawful use;
- DirectResearch observes secrecy with regard to all personal data that are collected and only provides personal data only to authorised officials.
- In addition, we support the International ICC/ESOMAR Code for carrying out market research.
The use of data
The response and personal data are only used for research activities and not for selling or sending anything. The response is processed and reported anonymously to clients, unless you have explicitly given permission to pass on your data. The protection of personal information and guaranteeing the privacy of participants in research has our highest priority.
Background details collected in a survey
When you participate in a survey, it is possible that your background details will be examined. These details concern demographic data such as age, gender, education and personal details such as name, address and email address. These data are only used to invite you with your permission for a survey and when processing the provided response into statistics.
Storage period of data
After the end of the survey personal data are deleted as quickly as possible. The personal data are only used to analyse your response and that of others at an aggregated level. In all cases all your personal data will be deleted after a period of six months, unless you are a member of one of the regular panels of DirectResearch. The personal data in the panels have a longer storage period than six months.
Your rights as a respondent
Each respondent obviously participates in a market survey project on a voluntary basis. The anonymity is guaranteed as strictly as possible at DirectResearch. When you have given permission to pass on data in a form which makes it possible for you to be personally identified, you must first be informed about who will receive the information and for which purposes it will be used. Your data will never be made available to a third party, unless you have explicitly given permission for this.
Measures to protect your personal information (ISO 27001)
DirectResearch has the ISO 27001 certificate. This standard describes how the process of protecting information is organised, with the aim to safeguard the confidentiality, availability and integrity of information within an organisation.

Applying for information on the website
On the website, you can apply for information, for instance in the form of white papers, pro forma quotations, or questions about sectors or types of research to research specialists. When these applications are submitted, names, company names, e-mail addresses and telephone numbers are stored. These details enable us to send e-mails to (new) customers or call them, to discuss and respond to any of their questions and comments. Your details are retained for a term not exceeding one (1) year, after which they will be deleted from our files. The details are used by DirectResearch exclusively and will never be sold or made available to any third party.
Vacancies on the website
On the website, you can react to a vacancy. When you react, an e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address email@example.com. As a result of the online application, you will receive a reaction from DirectResearch. Your details are retained for a term not exceeding one (1) year, after which the e-mails will be deleted. Your details are used by DirectResearch exclusively and will never be sold or made available to any third party.
Adaptations to the privacy statement
It may be that certain modifications will be made in this document, for example when the privacy legislation changes.
